I’m a entrepreneur, sailor, and runner from Baltimore, MD.

More than anything, I want to make stuff. I want to make apps, websites, systems, companies, and new ideas.

I also want to learn stuff. Especially new ways to think and learn. I read a lot of books and want to travel around the world in pursuit of this.

  • I’m very deliberate.
  • I care about the little things.
  • I love finding unorthodox solutions to interesting problems.
  • I got into programming after doing a lot of repetitive tasks as an analyst. I automated most of my work by writing code in Microsoft Excel using VBA. This freed up my time to take on more interesting problems and got me promoted to my first software development role.
  • I wrote and released my first iPhone app in 2017. Mobile development has been one my favorite things to do ever since.
  • I found my love for running in 2018 and it’s completely changed my outlook on health, fitness, and life. I also lost 95 pounds along the way.
  • I bought my first sailboat in 2016. Sailing has been a great escape from the real world, shown me a great community that is always ready to lend a hand, and has sparked a lot of new thoughts and ideas.
  • A few people I admire and draw inspiration from are Steve Jobs, Derek Sivers, Casey Neistat, and Jimmy Buffett.

Skipjack Studios

I started Skipjack Studios to solve real world problems.

When I bought my first sailboat I couldn’t find one source of weather data. So I built Buoycast to show all the info you need to stay safe on the water.

My boat didn’t have a built in knotmeter or chartplotter. So I built BoatSpeed, a knotmeter and bearing compass for iPhone and Apple Watch.

When I got into running I couldn’t find an app to quickly calculate pace, speed, and race finishing times. So I built Pace for iPhone and Apple Watch. I’m also working on a few other ideas in the health and fitness space.
